Sunshine - Finally!!!!!

Those of us who live in Indiana know that it has been a long, cold, dark, and at times depressing winter. We haven't really seen the sun or blue skies for about 6 months!!! For those that don't live in Indiana here is the scoop. . . We pretty much hibernate in the winter. We don't see our neighbors much, we don't go out if we don't have to and whenever we look out our windows all we see are empty trees, dead grass, absence of flowers and pretty much absence of life. Now here is the exciting part. When spring hits and we get our first days of nice weather everything comes to life!!! That weather hit this weekend and we soaked up every minute of it. The neighborhood was alive. People were riding bikes, doing yard work, playing ball, running, grilling, laughing, smiling, and soaking up the sun. It was so refreshing to look outside and see some flowers, green grass, trees starting to bud, and most importantly people. We had a great weekend. The kids played outside with the kids in our neighborhood. We had lunch outside, we cleaned out our cars and garage, and Kenneth washed the cars by hand. Today we went to the park and played with the other million kids that were there. We also splashed in the creek and skipped rocks. We treated ourselves to dairy queen (hey its been a long winter!!). We came home and played outside again until dark. Both last night and tonight the kids were exhausted by 7pm and off to sleep by 7:30. Oh how I love that feeling. It feels so good to feel sun-burned, tired, and happy=) Welcome Spring!!!!
