Easter

We went to church on Easter morning and then spent the rest of the day with my Grandma in the hospital. We had planned on a big Easter dinner at my mom's house but we ended up being tired after spending the day at the hospital so we had Easter dinner at O'Charlies. We had an Easter basket / egg hunt at my mom's house after dinner. I read the Easter story to my Grandma while she lay in her bed at the hospital. It reminded me again that Jesus wasn't about eggs or bunnies, He was about people. Not that I am against egg hunts, candy, and bunnies!! I was just reminded as I looked at my sick Grandma that Jesus would have spent the day with her as well. It is in loving people that we find true joy and happiness. Things don't always go as planned but its our response to lifes unpredictable events that really matters. My grandma is so special to me and her life has been a labor of love. Today we went to see her again in the hospital. Hannah is so fascinated by her. Today she asked her great-gma Ginny "Where did you get that pretty ring on your finger?" My grandma (who is 87 yrs old) told her "Your great-gpa Jack gave this ring to me 61 years ago!!" I feel so blessed to have my kids spend time with her (and my grandpa). They played a big role in my life growing up and it really means a lot to me that my kids have gotten to know them as well.

That is a beautiful picture of your Gma. Just reminds me of where your family got it's beauty, and more than just outward beauty.
