Eye Patch

We went to the eye doctor for Hannah's routine eye exam and left with two boxes of eye patches. Dr. Neely said that her left eye is still turning in slightly and her vision in that eye is not catching up with that of the right eye. Sooo we now have to patch her good eye for two hours every day. Unfortunately the two hours have to be the first two hours of school when she uses her eyes the most. I felt so bad for her the first day she had to wear it. She didn't want to leave the house and asked me at least 10 times if I had talked to her teacher about it and the mom we car pool with. She was afraid of the kids laughing at her and making fun of her. She walked out of the house with her hand over her eyepatch. When she got home she said it went ok at school. Her teacher said she talked to Hannah before class and asked her if she could talk to the class about it first thing. Hannah responded "Absolutely not!! I don't want anyone to know about it" I guess she thought not talking about it would mean the kids wouldn't notice =) Well they noticed and the teacher ended up having to talk to the class about it. The next thing is what made my heart swell with joy =) A little boy in the class raised his hand and asked if the class could gather around Hannah and pray for her eye to get better. After that it was all better. The kids had no problem with it. Hannah giggled and told me that her teacher told her "If anyone else asks why you are wearing a patch just say . . . . .It's because I am a pirate ARGHHHH" She got a laugh out of that one. So three months of this and then we go back. Pray for her eye to get better please =)
