The simple life

Last weekend we went to visit the Levi Fisher farm. We belong to a vegetable co-op (We get fresh organic veggies every week from their farm). Last weekend we decided to take a trip (about a 1 hour drive) to their farm. The family is Amish and have 15 children (no I did not make a typo -15 kids!) We had such a wonderful and refreshing time at their home. We took a tour of their farm and learned all about the different fruits, veggies, grains, etc.. that they grow on the farm. The kids loved being able to run through the grass and open fields. It was so peaceful and quiet. Yes, quiet even with all the kids. Hannah fell in love with a little kitty named Simple. She carried Simple everywhere she went. Hudson loved watching the boys ride the horses and plow the fields. They made us a wonderful dinner. Everything was homemade from their farm. We had bean soup, bread, homemade butter and honey, and blackberry dessert with homemade yogurt. No preservatives, no pesticides, no hormones, everything fresh and delicious!! We couldn't believe how happy, well-mannered, and lovely their kids were. There was no T.V, no toys, no radio or computers. Just time together. Hannah said she wished we lived there. On the way home we asked her what her favorite part was about the farm. She replied "The people" she had such a grin on her face. I think we need a little bit more of "The simple life" 1 Thessalonians 3:7 "Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders . . ." Love you, Loree
